Sri Lanka Signs the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime
Sri Lanka proudly joined the global community in combating cybercrime by signing the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime on 25 October 2025 in Hà Nội, Viet Nam.
The Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy, Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala, signed the Convention on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka.
The signing ceremony was graced by the participation of H.E. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and H.E. Luong Cuong, President of Viet Nam.
A total of 69 countries signed the Convention, marking a historic milestone in international cooperation to ensure a safer, more secure, and trustworthy digital environment for all.
